The Football datasets contain ego networks of users in Italy, Brazil, the Netherlands, and Nigeria discussing national football teams on X (formerly Twitter). Seed users were chosen from interactions with major local club accounts, and data was gathered using snowball sampling between April 20 and May 22, 2023. The datasets comprise hundreds to thousands of egos per country and up to over a million interactions, offering insights into social connectivity and sentiment in the context of highly engaging but variably polarising sports fandoms.
