Estimating Collective Wellbeing

This method estimates the wellbeing of a country by using an alternative measure to GDP. The proposed measure is the average sophistication of the satisfiable needs of a population, and it is estimated by connecting products sold in the country to the customers buying them in significant quantities, generating a customer-product bipartite network. The average sophistication of the satisfiable needs of a population is a good test of a country’s prosperity as it addresses the major issues of GDP.
