Data Visualisation and Visual Analytics Module

This module provides an introduction to the concepts of vision and perception in order to design an effective data visualisation. Moreover, it provides insight into visual variables, an introduction to D3.js and case studies and examples. The module focuses on four main areas: - Effective Visual Representation - Vision Systems - Visual Variables - Toolbox - Visualisation for the web - Basics (Web Server, HTML, CSS, Javascript, D3) - Charts (NVD3 Library) - Advanced Visualisation (D3) - Scientific Visualisation - Plotting - Geography - Storytelling The module comprises IPython hands on materials and provides all exercises and code discussed in the course.

It is part of the Master in Big Data Analytics & Social Mining at the University of Pisa (https://www.masterbigdata.it).
